MNRK Music Publishing is a division of one of the largest independent music businesses, with active writers and catalogues in multiple genres, offering a music publishing administration service to clients in the UK, Canada and USA.
MNRK Music is part of the SESAC Music Group and shares London office space with its sister company Audio Network, based in Hatton Garden.
Position Summary
The Publishing Administrator will manage the royalty accounting function for the business for an interim period, as well as the transfer of royalty data from the existing Music Maestro platform to a new bespoke database with our sister company based in Nashville.
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure the accurate and timely distribution of quarterly royalty statements to our catalogue partners and clients, providing clear reporting and service.
- Work closely with colleagues in Business Affairs and A&R as required to understand the catalogues to which the payments relate.
- Oversee payments to thirdparty publishing administration partners, delivering excellent service and support.
- Ensure royalties received are imported to the Music Maestro database on receipt.
- Field questions from writers on reporting and payments.
- Work with business affairs and creative teams to ingest all new writer agreements and catalogues.
- Ensure proper and complete registrations of owned and administered copyrights in all territories.
- Work closely with internal finance and external publishing administration partner to ensure timely and accurate royalty statements are rendered.
- Liaise as required with PROs, subpublishers, data partners.
- Oversee the transfer of royalty and composer data from the existing Music Maestro platform to a new bespoke database with our sister company in Nashville.
Requirements:
- Three or more years in music publishing administration including specific royalty accounting work on the Music Maestro platform.
- Ideally (but not essential) experience of a second royalty accounting software.
- A good working knowledge of both the audiovisual and commercial music publishing business.
- An understanding of publishing administration and writer facing technologies.
- Strong understanding of the links between contract administration, royalties, and financial accounting.
- Handson, detail oriented, selfreliant comfortable managing all steps of the publishing administration process.
- Excellent communicator who effectively partners with colleagues and delivers excellent service to clients.
- Music publishing administration professional who is genuinely collaborative, hardworking, reliable and of the highest integrity.
