Data Centre Operations Manager up to £55,000 with exceptional benefits - Liverpool based /Hybrid working


We are partnered with one of the largest Employers in the region, a leading Russell Group University who are looking for a Data Centre Operations Manager.

A leader within their sector, they work in partnership with enterprise technology partners and utilise cutting edge technology. The company operates on a large-scale with over with over 30,000 users and has a world class reputation.


Within this newly created role you will be tasked with taking responsibility for the provision of day-to-day Data Centre service operations using best practices and standards.

You will lead in planning, designing, and implementing strategic plans to ensuredata centre capacity, availability and resilience meets the University's existing and future requirements.

This is not a technical hands on role.


You will provide technical leadership and expert advice for Data Centre operations and development, managing a team of operational staff.


Other duties include leading in the planning, development, and enhancement of the Data Centre provision, coordinating regular resilience, continuity, and failover testing in relation to Data Centres, managing communication, planning and risk mitigation.

Recording test outcomes, addressing issues, and seeking continuous operational improvement.


Proven experience in a selection of the following areas is essential:

  • Data centre operational management experience (HVAC, power, UPS, cabling, racking, backup/recovery, monitoring systems etc.)
  • Proficient in understanding Infrastructure Architecture, the frameworks and principles on which networks, systems and modern IT service provision are based.
  • Proficient in methods and techniques for risk management, business impact analysis, countermeasures and contingency arrangements relating to the serious disruption of IT services.
  • Team Leadership experience
Operating a Hybrid working model, there is a split of onsite and remote working.
