Our exciting EYFS department provides an excellent foundation for learning; ensuring that when the children enter the preparatory school, they are independent, confident, have good social and communication skills, ready to face the challenges ahead.
We are a rural preparatory school and nursery (IAPS and ISA accredited), offering a superb education to boys and girls aged 2 to 11 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- supporting children's day-to-day needs in the EYFS building
- scaffolding and extending children's ideas and experiences as they learn through play
- completing observations and planning activities for children
- leading small group activities and circle times
- building strong relationships with children, parents and staff members
- supporting planning and curriculum design
- being the key person for our 2-3-year-old pupils
- monitoring, assessing and recording children's progress
- ensuring all health and safety and safeguarding procedures are being followed
- assisting with break and lunch duties and mealtime support
- contributing relevant observations to our in-the-moment planning system to support the child-led curriculum we offer - supporting the wider life of the school
- undertaking nappy changing, supporting children when dressing/changing
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:
- experience working with EYFS-aged children (required)
- relevant EYFS Level 2 or higher award in childcare (required)
- experience planning and delivering effective continuous and enhanced provision (required)
- thorough understanding of the EYFS framework (required)
- able to communicate effectively with other staff members and build positive relationships (required)
- experience using online learning journals (desired)
- recent First Aid Certificate (desired)
Additional requirements:
- able to work both independently and as part of a team
- able to follow instructions accurately and effectively
- able to pass an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
Working Hours
Minimum of 16 hours per week, within our opening hours of 8.15am to 3.30pm. Hours and days can be discussed at interview.
Contract Type:
Permanent - Term time only (34 weeks a year)
