BAE Systems Barrow in Furness
Key Accountabilities:
-
1. Issue garments into lockers for new starters.
2. General laundry service.
3. Control of movement of garments when a wearer changes location.
4. Garment upkeep/repairs and replacement.
5. Locker audits.
6. Laundry usage reports for management
7. Laundry service workshops.
Main duties:
-
- Measure all wearers using sizing sets.
- Assign locker location.
- Collect garments from supplier, attach bar codes and deliver into assigned locker.
- Maintain wearer register
- Collect all dirty garments and prepare ready for collection.
- Deliver all laundered garments into locker location.
- Control the request for movers to ensure garments move to new location
- Maintain wearer register
- Collect, launder and repair garments as required, returning them to wearer locker.
- As required condemn garments, reorder, and return new garments to locker.
- Produce repair/condemned garment information as required.
- Ensure periodic locker audits are completed.
- Produce usage reports and work with BAE staff to maximisation of laundry services.
- Hold laundry workshops across customer site to educate staff on the benefits of the service.
- To look for innovation to improve the service and report accordingly.
- To keep managers, supervisors and colleagues informed in relation to queries raised.
Service delivery:

- To keep accurate records where required.
- To wear and use PPE and handling aids where supplied at all times for all relevant tasks.
- To carry out all tasks to comply with company and customers policies on health and safety.
- To comply with company and customers policies and the terms and conditions of employment and follow company procedures.
- To keep work area clean, tidy, safe and secure at all times.
- To keep all vehicles, where supplied, clean tidy, maintained and secure at all times.
- To attend training courses as required.
- To foster and maintain good working relations with customer, company and colleagues.
- To maintain confidentiality of company and customer business.
- Other ad hoc duties as required within the core skills of the deliverable.
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
£21,500.00-£23,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Barrow-InFurness: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
- customer service: 3 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- UK Driving License (required)
