We have a great opportunity to join Phoenix Group as an Actuarial Placement Student


Job Type:12 month FTC (July July 2025)


Location:
This role will be based from either
Wythall or
Telford

Flexible working:
All of our roles are open to part-time, job-share and other types of flexibility. We will discuss what is important to you and balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process.


Salary:
From £22,500 plus 8%-16% bonus, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more

The role
You will join us for 12 months as an Actuarial Placement Student.

This is a great option for a university student wanting to do a year in industry or someone who would like a taste of the Actuarial industry.


You can expect to:

  • Perform high quality analysis and producing accurate output in line with reporting, pricing, or other requirements that apply.
  • Ensure work is documented to the required audit standard.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to deliver the Actuarial and Finance team objectives.
  • Deliver all services to business and customers in a timely manner to meet expectations.
  • Carry out routine processes in line with documented procedures, and ensuring documented procedures are kept up to date.
  • Escalate risks and issues to line management in a timely manner and assisting with implementation of solution where appropriate.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial data is maintained.
  • Actively support knowledge management and knowledge sharing within the Actuarial and Finance Departments.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and workshops attended.

  • Are looking to complete a placement year during their university course.
  • Have a genuine want to gain experience within the Actuarial industry.
  • Are studying towards an analytically based degree such as mathematics, scientific or economics based areas
