Salary:
£33,246 rising to £38,238 per annum


Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Foundry Operative on behalf of one of our clients.
Monday to Friday 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts, both days and nights.

Required to assist the foundry supervisor with the process of melting secondary aluminium scrap and dross to produce high quality specification ingot.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Plant Operation.
  • Monitor the pouring of molten metal into moulds and other forms to create castings with the help of ladles and handoperated equipment.
  • Carefully track the temperature gauges and colour, heating units, furnace flames, etc. to melt metal as per requirements.
  • Adjust extra metal and skim slag in ingots or equipment with strainers, burners, and other hand tools.
  • Ensure that water is circulated through the cores or water is sprayed on filled moulds to create a solid metal product.
  • Build sand moulds for castings with rotolifts, induction furnaces and jolt squeeze machines.
  • Material management.
  • Lab testing.
  • Furnace Loading.
  • Housekeeping.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Counterbalance FLT Licence.
  • Ability to complete low level maintenance.
  • Computer literate (MS Office: Word and Excel Intermediate).
  • Reliable, honest and trustworthy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Organised / Methodical.
  • Handson.
  • Agile approach to getting things done; flexible and adaptable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn different aspects of the business.
