Afterschool Club Sports/Dance Coach


If you have a passion for sports or dance and need a few hours work each week, we could have the perfect job for you.


At this leading physical education provider, you will have the opportunity to deliver afterschool clubs during term-time but also assist on our kids camps during the school holidays, you would be required to develop children's basic techniques in sport and promote health delivering various activities in our afterschool sports/dance clubs and holiday clubs.

This position is ideal if you are a student looking to top up your income or just need a few extra hours work each week (term hours are between 2:30pm and 4:30pm and camp hours are 8:30am - 5:30pm)

The Position
We are seeking Sports and Dance Coaches to work flexible hours (approx. 5-10pw) with experience teaching sports and dance to young people.

Through PE delivery in education settings, you will teach a variety of sports or dance styles and themes, working to our delivery standards whilst teaching the same children each term, progressing, and assessing their skills.

This role requires an individual who is confident, knowledgeable, and versatile with the ability to engage young people.

£10 - £15.00ph DOE


Responsibilities:


  • Deliver PE lessons and a variety of Sports and Dance styles to primary school aged pupils
  • Create & teach original choreography (Dance coach only)
  • Be assertive and respected by pupils
  • Lesson administration
  • Developing adapting schemes of work
  • Provide an exciting learning experience
  • Be versatile and committed to learning
  • Be reliable and flexible
  • Demonstrate professionalism to clients
  • Travel to various locations and settings in the Yorkshire region
  • Assist in the promotion of other First Step Brands

Knowledge and Experience Requirements

  • A dance teaching qualification or at least a Level 1 coaching badge or equivalent
  • 1 years teaching experience
  • Experience following lesson plans
  • An interest in delivering other areas of the PE Curriculum (Gymnastics, Games, OAA, Athletics)
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Risk Assessment experience
  • Experience working with a variety of ages
  • GCSE Maths and English.
  • First Aid and Child Protection Training
  • Desirable (Training can be provided)
  • Committed to continuous professional development
  • Level 2 Coaching Qualification
  • Desirable (Training can be provided)
  • Please note: Driving License and your own transport are essential for this position
