My client is an Accountancy practice and is looking for a Payroll senior to join their team. This is a great opportunity to

The main duties of the role include:

  • Preparation of weekly and monthly payrolls for clients using Sage, including calculating and processing adjustments, producing payroll summaries and payslips for each client as required
  • Preparation and completion of weekly and monthly RTI returns and Employer forms
  • Send BACS payments
  • Setting up new PAYE schemes and online filing
  • End of year processing including collating and providing P60's, PAYE reconciliations, final submissions or Earlier Year Updates where required
  • Controlling a list of payroll clients, ensuring that client expectations for payroll deadlines are met and submissions are made to HMRC in accordance with the deadlines
  • Assist with client questions and liaise with HMRC where necessary to resolve issues on behalf of the client
  • Good knowledge of current employment legislation relating to Statutory payments, Redundancy, Auto Enrolment, salary sacrifice and all other related PAYE matters is essential for this role
  • Development of the department to increase fee base through areas such as networking and seminars
  • At least 3 years previous experience of client payroll from either Accounts Practice or Payroll Bureau preferable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills you will have daily contact with the clients and other payroll senior
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • A desire to help the practice grow further
  • Ability to work under pressure this is a demanding role, often with multiple daily deadlines
  • Strong organisation skills you will be required to multitask
  • Ability to follow and implement systems
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Willing to learn legislation changes and advances in IT mean the role continually evolves and you will want to continually grow and learn new technical knowledge and new IT skills
  • Flexible and adaptable beyond the core role
  • Ideally have knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Sage Payroll experience
