Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Hire Goods In Manager will work in our Manchester warehouse and be responsible for ensuring that equipment returning into the building is accounted for.

The role includes monitoring the booking system to ensure booked equipment is returned in a timely fashion.

Your day will look like this:


  • Manage the Goods In team to ensure all returning rental jobs are accurately scanned back in within 48hrs of the job return.
  • Liaise with Account Handlers/Warehouse Management notifying them of any missing items, and seek out the relevant action to take in each case.
  • Maintain the stock system, ensuring any missing/nonreturned items are marked accordingly.
  • Check goods in against delivery notes for accuracy and damages, booking in on relevant systems against relevant purchase orders.
  • Monitor Sub-Rental equipment entering the building, ensuring items are checked off against delivery notes, or generating accurate lists where these are not availible.
  • Ensure Sub-Rental equipment is returned as a priority when returning from
  • Ensuring goods reach the appropriate department / individual.
  • Ensure any shipping anomalies are reported to management immediately.
  • Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded.
  • Liaise with other Solotech warehouses/goods in on receiving stock and movement between sites.
  • Work with other members of staff to manage movements and logistics for the wider warehouse team.
  • Maintain warehouse, yard and department tidiness.
  • Any other additional reasonable ad hoc duties as required by management.

Essential skills / experience:


  • At least 3 years experience of working within a similar role.
  • Good administration skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential, ability to use a database software.
  • Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised, whilst recognising when to ask questions.

Advantageous, but not essential:


  • Pro audio industry knowledge / interest

Level of education:


  • 5 GCSE's A* C / or equivalent) or equivalent working experience

Work Experience:


  • Previous experience in a similar or customer service based role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the proaudio industry or associated markets would be advantageous
