Are you a passionate, collaborative and influential individual with proven supervisory/management experience, including leading and motivating a busy team? Do you have experience of providing vital support and guidance to vulnerable children and young people?


If so, join St Giles Trust as our
Community Team Leader, where you will provide a high-level service to the South West Community Team Projects, which currently support and mentor hard to reach and vulnerable children and young people in educational settings, custody and on a one-to-one basis.

About this key role


We will also count on you to ensure all staff comply with security and data protection protocols and requirements, to assist the Community Team Manager with the recruitment of new staff to the service and to maintain the relationships with the various services to refer clients to the service.

Producing support and risk management plans based on assessments and closing cases efficiently and positively, developing survival plans for the client that will identify agencies that can be used for ongoing support, are also key duties.


What we are looking for**- A sound understanding of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with 'high risk', vulnerable children, young people and/or families

  • Experience of developing staff, peer advisers and volunteers appropriately to their skills and capacities
  • Experience of managing project finances with multiple income streams and budget setting
  • Knowledge of the support families require when faced with housing and benefit issues, employment support and issues including criminal justice, serious youth violence, organised crime and County Lines
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationshipbuilding and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A collaborative, professional and flexible approach to your work
