We are looking for a Travel Retail Merchandiser to join our business within DFDS.
Based at Dover, you will be working within our onboard service department, managing the flow of stock from suppliers to shelf.
This will include you developing Open to Buy and stock target plans with the Head of Retail and Finance, also partnering with Category Managers to develop sales, stock and markdown plans to facilitate delivery of KPI's as well as financial goals.
We will need you to visit our Duty-Free Shops to engage with our onboard and shore side teams to discuss stock trends, identifying opportunities and risks.
This will enable you to complete SKU level forecasting to support optimised fulfilment rates and on-shelf availability.
Throughout the role you will work closely with Category Managers and Shore Side Duty Free Shop Managers, to deliver reductions in Transhipment and 3PL costs aligned to targets.
We want you to own the delivery schedule/cycle, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure the accurate intake of stock according to planned levels.
Be the lead for DFDS on all elements of the management of order frequency, scheduling, availability, and compliance with our stakeholders.
Proactively identifying opportunities to re-source stock when out of stock situations occur from our primary supply partners. Ensuring that delivery, logistics & invoicing issues are concluded to a successful resolution with key internal and external stakeholders.
This is a specialist role, specific to retail operations and ideally you will have 3+years' experience in a merchandising or stock planning role or a closely related field, within UK FMCG market or Travel Retail.
This combined with good knowledge and experience of the processes and systems required to support the setting and monitoring of sales and stock plans.
It is key you have a solid history in delivering stock optimisation and reductions of operating costs and alongside experience of managing delivery schedules, forecasts, and intake plans.
We are seeking someone who can develop collaborative relationships with internal & external stakeholders.An elevated level of competency using Microsoft Office & Excel is essential, and preferably educated to degree level, ideally in a financial/sales/marketing or business focused degree.
