An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic experienced ACC Clinical Coder to join our friendly and established clinical coding team.
The successful applicant will be required to work as part of a dedicated team of Clinical Coders to provide accurate and timely Clinical Coding of all inpatient episodes, adhering to national coding standards and best practice guidelines, as set out by the NHS Classifications Service.
You will need to have an eye for detail and possess excellent analytical skills, be confident using IT systems and have the ability to work to strict deadlines.
You will be required to work methodically; collecting relevant information from patients health records and various clinical systems for data input.
In addition we offer a supportive, and flexible working environment. Part time hours will be considered as will the option to work remotely.
Extract and analyse relevant complex clinical information from patient notes and the Trust's electronic systems to assign accurate diagnostic, intervention and procedure codes using ICD10/OPCS-4 classifications, following and in keeping with the well-defined national coding standards.
Liaise with clinicians and team members to ensure inpatients are coded accurately and comprehensively, and represent patient care received within the Trust.
Support with the development and training of less experienced coders.

To accurately extract, analyse and translate clinical information from clinical records into nationally recognised diagnosis (ICD 10) and procedure (OPCS 4) codes for admitted patient care.
Input the relevant information onto the Trust's patient administration computer system, within agreed Trust deadlines.
Play a key role in ensuring monthly clinical coding deadlines are met.
Contribute to the provision of assistance to other staff within the department with the responsibility for covering the work of colleagues during the periods of absence or peak workloads.
