As the Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), you'll lead our strategy and vision.

You'll partner with leaders and executives across the company to drive brave and meaningful changes that make a difference and instil a sense of collective accountabilityin us all.

Here's what you'll be doing:


  • Work with HR Colleagues, our Leadership team, our network leads and people leaders across the business to deliver on our strategy and establish clear measurable outcomes that cascade into individual and team accountabilities.
  • Design and execute on specific DE&I programs that support the achievement of the longterm DE&I vision and goals.
  • Work in partnership with our employee network groups to evolve through the lens of intersectionality to become a strategic driver and catalyst for change and collaboration.
  • Align with divisional HR business partner teams to translate enterprisewide programs into local action and meaningful change.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues and leaders in all specialisms and disciplines to ensure that applicable DEI strategies are incorporated into all programs and activities in the colleague journey.
  • Partner with the Internal Communications team to build and implement a communications plan to support evolving DE&I narrative and objectives.
  • Drive a culture of spontaneous storytelling to help drive empathy and understanding at scale
  • Continue to embed effective DE&I practices into every phase of the talent and development lifecycles, to support the development and advancement of underrepresented talent.
  • Partner with L&D to define ongoing learning and development opportunities to support our DE&I ambitions and objectives.
  • Take the lead on both behavioural and structural inclusion initiatives to drive equity in the colleague experience.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure they have the tools and understanding they need to be able to articulate our DE&I strategy and plans to external audiences, through all brand touchpoints.
  • Develop and execute a plan to engage employees and leadership in DE&I programmes and promote a culture of inclusivity and proactive allyship.
  • Articulate appropriate metrics to measure all aspects of Inclusion and provide updates to the key stakeholders.
  • Identify and build relationships with external partners that deliver impact and support our DE&I strategies for all underrepresented groups.
  • Analyse talent and colleague demographics while monitoring external and internal data trends to drive action.
  • Be a visible and inspiring DE&I champion, communicating regularly to the organisation and inspiring colleagues to stay accountable and curious.
  • Represent Virgin Money on external associations to drive DEI agenda within Financial Services.
  • Take ownership of internal and external reporting on DE&I, production of Gender Pay Gap reporting and all related pledges and commitments.

We need you to bring:


  • Extensive experience successfully building and leading a progressive and ambitious. enterprise level DE&I strategy and translating it into impactful initiatives and outcomes
  • Proven success in using data/insights to develop and evolve DEI strategies and programs.
  • Track record of exceeding DE&I related commitments, goals and objectives within complex organisations.
  • Ability to influence and drive action at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to collaborate across business units and build strong relationships with key stakeholders throughout the organisation.
  • Strong communication skills able to tell stories, deliver compelling messages, and clearly articulate a vision both written and orally.
  • DE&I practitioner with extensive experience in setting and implementing strategy.
  • Extensive knowledge of Inclusion best practices including UK legislation.
  • Strong delivery, analysis and reporting skills, able to demonstrate delivery of data informed approaches to Inclusion.
  • Ability to act as a coach, trainer and mentor, building skills, knowledge, and capacity within the organisation.
  • Experience of developing and implementing D&I initiatives in practical and innovative ways
  • Wellconnected externally into D&I networks and communities.
