About The Role:


Position Summary


The Contracts Executive will be primarily responsible for assisting the Legal Counsel Lead and the wider Legal team with all supplier and customer contracting across Claranet UK.

The role of the Contracts Executive is to establish the standardisation of legal agreements and contracts, enabling efficiency and consistency of approach to customer growth, success management and managed service offerings.


Objectives and Key Results

  • In conjunction with the Legal Counsel Lead continuously evolve the contracting process to enable efficiency through a repeatable and scalable model.
  • Support Legal Counsel with Legal inbox queries, allocation and taking ownership of appropriate matters.
  • Ensure that legal queries are addressed and completed effectively and efficiently with a primary focus on customer contracts.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation, review, negotiation and finalisation of contracts and related legal documents with a key focus on customer commercial contracts and other associated activities to deliver a streamlined customer commercial contract legal review process.
  • Guided by the Legal Counsel Lead and Legal Counsel, provide contract interpretation and advice to all functions across the business on any matters that are legal in nature but primarily contract related.
  • Effectively address Legal inbox matters working closely with all stakeholders to deliver a timely response, with a focused priority on customer contract queries.
  • Work with the Legal Counsel Lead and the Legal Counsel to prepare weekly reports on P1, P2 and P3 matters, including the progression, identify any significant issues, delays or concerns for review by Legal Counsel Lead or the Head of Procurement, Legal and Compliance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all contracts and legal resources are accessible to all internal users at the appropriate level, including implementing improvements on an ongoing basis or as directed from time to time.
  • Actively seeks ways in conjunction with the Legal Counsel Lead and other stakeholders to streamline legal processes.

About You:

Critical competencies - technical fit

  • A paralegal role or equivalent experience or have basic working knowledge of commercial law in practice.
  • Ability to manage a high workload at pace.
  • Law degree, LLM or LPC preferable.
  • Desire to establish a career in legal practice inhouse.
  • Strong commercial orientation with a desire to learn about new technologies.
