Bristol Mind are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate HR professional for a period of 10 months to cover maternity leave.

You will have a passion for employee relations and ensuring a positive working environment for the team.


Location:
Bristol Mind Offices and blended remote working

Hours:25 hours per week over a minimum of 4 days


Salary:
£27,000 pa pro-rated


Contract Type:
Maternity cover for 10 months from 3 July 2023

Interviews to take place between between 01/06/2023 and 06/06/2023.

Background and Purpose

  • You will be the first port of call for all HR aspects within the organisation. This will include advising line managers on policies and assisting with employee relations and performance management.
  • You will ensure all policies are up to date and applied consistently and that all HR queries are dealt with promptly and reliably.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dealing with various HR queries from across the business
  • Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and ensuring these are in line with current legislation
  • Informing employees of their rights and entitlements and keeping them up to date on any changes that are made
  • Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations
  • Managing the HR system (Personio) ensuring all records are up to date
  • Handling HR matters reliably and in accordance with BM policies and legal requirements
  • Support project leaders to onboard volunteers, including compliance checks and initial training completion.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for all new starters from initial hire to their start date.
  • Ensure training and compliance documents are up to date for all staff and volunteers.
  • Supporting the CEO and Line Managers with various formal processes, including grievance and disciplinary
  • Assisting with any recruitment campaigns
  • Driving the HR metrics performance in relation to the organisation's objectives
  • To report on agreed HR management information in a timely manner
  • To escalate issues and concerns as appropriate and in a timely manner
  • To support the smooth running of the BM office

Contribute to the overall running of Bristol Mind

  • Ensure that the views of staff, volunteers and service users are shared with the CEO and BDM to inform project development.
  • Assist in the development of other projects and services specifically supporting people's mental health and wellbeing.
  • Carry out work in accordance with Bristol Mind's policies and procedures, current legislation, and quality standards.
  • Ensure that the organisation is presented in a professional manner to its beneficiaries, members and stakeholders.
  • Take responsibility for your own safety and that of colleagues and visitors in the workplace.
  • To contribute to events and activities that improve the visibility of, and raise the profile of Bristol Mind as a whole.
  • To contribute to the effective running of the organisation within legal and good practice frameworks, in conjunction with colleagues.
  • To be prepared for, attend, and engage in staff meetings, supervision, appraisal, and training, as agreed with your line manager.
  • To undertake other tasks which may not be included in this job description, but which fall within the scope of this post.
