Your New Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a
permanent Planner to join our
Northern Ireland account in
Lurgan.


Our Northern Ireland account is working in partnership with Lagan Construction since 2007. We are responsible for the overall operations and maintenance including but not limited to emergency response, winter gritting and street lighting inspection and maintenance.


We maintain 125km of road network in Northern Ireland as well as building 40km of new road we ensure our roads and highways are well-maintained through all-weather seasons and the build of new roads to support and link communities.

The aim of this strategy was to make Northern Ireland a better place to 'live, work, learn and grow'.


The Planner plays an important part in assisting the Customer and Community Representative and Senior Planner to develop, maintain and deliver the highway cyclic and reactive maintenance programme.


The standard hours of work are Monday - Friday, 39 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:


  • Developing and managing all sixyear rolling programmes, including medium and short term resourced weekly programmes
  • Tracking progress, incorporating changes, and reprogramming to ensure contractual compliance
  • Leading the preparation of periodic reports, statistics, and answers to enquiries
  • Ensuring records of cyclic and lifecycle activities are accurate and current, utilising BIM compliant technology
  • Ensuring high standards of programming are carried out to meet client and contract requirements
  • Developing and improving working practices and seeking innovative solutions

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • An attention to detail, with accuracy a key deliverable
  • Good communication skills (verbal/written) and be able to manage stakeholders at all levels
  • Flexibility to deliver other contract deliverables including winter decision making and other rotas

Ideally you will be qualified in high-speed Highway Maintenance with experience in traffic management and highway cyclic maintenance.


In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have advanced ability in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (in particular excel) and preferably Microsoft Project, plus other tools/systems defined by the project to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
