Description
Are you looking for a New Year's resolution that really means something? Would you like to help enrich the life of a young person with complex needs?
By becoming a Buddy, you'll help a young person build confidence and form new friendships. You'll also gain a new friend and have the opportunity to learn valuable skills along the way.
Plus, it's so much fun
Over half of disabled young people in the UK feel lonely, but at Sense we believe that no one should be left out of life Our Buddies are so vital to the people we support, and we really couldn't do what we do without them
We're looking for kind and enthusiastic volunteers who can support young people in Manchester.
Our amazing buddying team will talk with you about what you like to do and match you with someone with similar interests, and you can choose how you'd like to spend your time together - whether that's art exhibitions, gigs or laser quest.
Here's what Milton had to say about his experience as a Buddy: _"I've learnt a lot through Buddying - from caring for my Buddy, to solving problems quickly. Volunteering with Sense is one of the best decisions made in my life, and I've met other great volunteers with the same passion"_
We typically ask for three to four hours per week for at least six months. Our roles are flexible, so we'll work with you to set up a schedule that works for you.
