Learning Mentor with Attendance and Early Help responsibilities

Location:
Gladstone Road Primary School, Scarborough


Contract:
Fixed term contract until July 2024 (with possibility of extension)


Hours/ Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, term-time only + 1 week


Salary/ Hourly Rate:
NYC Grade E, £12,38 - £13.02 per hour, £23,893 - £25,119 per annum full time equivalent

Our Opportunity
Due to an internal promotion we are seeking a Learning Mentor to join #teamgladstone


The role will involve supporting the attendance team to challenge poor attendance and punctuality by sending letters, phoning parents, conducting home visits and conducting panel meetings with parents as part of the monitoring process.

You will have experience of providing one to one or small group support with the more challenging pupils who are having performance, attendance or behavioural issues that are affecting their learning, to help them overcome the barriers to learning and improve their education.

You will have experience of working in a classroom, adapting the activities to meet the individual's needs as assessed.


You will:

  • Work well as part of a team
  • Demonstrate good communication skills both orally and in writing
