Description
We are a leading Housing Association based in London, and we are seeking a Finance Officer to join our team.
The Finance Officer will be responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in all aspects of financial management, including but not limited to, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and day-to-day financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and budgets
- Prepare financial reports and analysis, including variance analysis and financial modeling
- Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
- Support the Finance Manager in managing cash flow and forecasting cash flow requirements
- Monitor expenditure against budget and provide regular reports to budget holders
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of yearend accounts and liaise with external auditors
- Manage the payroll process, including calculating salaries, producing payslips, and dealing with payroll queries
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
- Undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time to support the Finance Manager and the wider Finance Team
Requirements:
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in Finance or Accounting
- At least 2 years' experience working in a finance role
- Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a strong attention to detail
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working in the social housing sector (desirable)
Salary:
£15.50 per hour
