Deputy Pro Dean for Research:


_This role is open to existing Grade 9 and 10 (Teaching and Research or Teaching and Scholarship) employees in FMH._

Do you have a track record of successful delivery of ambitious and imaginative leadership and their associated activities, are you looking for a challenging leadership position and would you like to support staff to achieve academic excellence?


Working with the Deputy Dean of the Faculty (Research) and the Pro-Dean Research Faculty, you will play a major strategic role undertaking cross-institutional activity, contributing to strategic developments and determining, leading and implementing the strategy for applied research and innovation within the Faculty.

You will play an important leadership role promoting, facilitating and delivering research and innovation of the highest quality.

This will include engaging staff with the University's research and innovation strategy and facilitating the links between academics in FMH and the wider University to support cross-faculty initiatives.

You will also have an external facing role, developing and enhancing partnerships nationally and internationally, with organisations such as industry, research councils, government and other HE institutions.


You will have the breadth and depth of academic experience, ambition and creativity to take forward the development of the Faculty's portfolio of research.

You will work with appropriate University and Faculty structures, seeking to identify and develop opportunities for new initiatives and programmes, inter

Working with the Deputy Dean (Research) and the Pro Dean for Research, you will take a leading role in in agreed delivery of elements of the R&I Strategy.


You will be taking on a significant and complex leadership role and must be able to lead with a clear vision and engage others across the Faculty and the University.

Further, you will thrive on working collaboratively in a busy and dynamic environment to enhance the reputation of the Faculty with a focus on quality and excellence.
