Ochil Tower School, in Auchterarder, is a vibrant community, made up of residents, day pupils, support workers, staff, and international volunteers who provide care and education to children and young adults (ages 8 to 21) with social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties and learning disabilities.

Due to a transition to a 52 week service, we currently have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic people to join us in our residential houses on a 26 hour, set shift, part-time contract.

Requirements of the individual:

Experience working with young people or adults with social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties or with people with learning disabilities/ADHD/autism (either as paid employment/voluntary/personal life).
Have a caring attitude & genuine interest in the rights & welfare of young people.
Ability to safely manage conflict/challenging situations, including verbal and physical aggression.
Be committed to the principle of continued professional development (CPD) and working towards achieving the necessary qualifications.
A relevant qualification, or the willingness to achieve one
A satisfactory PVG/Criminal Record Check
Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council

Desirable

HNC in Social Care/Social Services and SVQ3 Children and Young People/adults (or equivalent qualifications as recognised by SSSC).

Responsibilities & Duties

Provide a safe, nurturing environment ensuring the best possible care and support to our young people in conjunction with the principles of safeguarding and child protection.
Responsible for providing individualised care to young people through developing professional and effective relationships.
Encourage and support young people to participate in educational, recreational, and cultural activities.
Meet with the House Coordinator to review progress with tasks and training as indicated in the policies and procedures for support and supervision.
Contribute to individual SHANARRI Care plans and Education Plans, termly SMART aims, Local Authority, and professional reviews.
