Catering Assistant

Grade 2, SCP 4-7

22.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday), term time only, permanent

We are seeking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join our Catering team as soon as possible.

The Catering Assistant, under the direction of the Head Teacher will be responsible for assisting in the food preparation and the delivery of the food service at Great Wyrley Academy in line with the schools ethos of achieving high standards is maintained and/or exceeded.

Key responsibilities include:
- ? To assist in the smooth running of the food service to include assisting in the preparation and production of hot food, sandwiches, salads, baked goods and all other food served

  • Assist with the transportation of meals, where required.
  • To assist in all aspects of stock control including stock takes and delivery monitoring
  • To provide a positive friendly customer service for all pupils, staff and visitors using the facility
  • To assist with all aspects of cleaning of the kitchen, equipment and other food service areas ensuring that all check-lists are completed.
  • Observe and comply with all Health and Safety and Fire Regulations and procedures.
  • Undertake any relevant training deemed necessary, such as food hygiene, safeguarding, health and safety.
  • To assist in the production of food for special events, theme days and functions
