Purpose of the Job:


The Stack Manufacturing Engineer be focused on supporting and developing all our products and processes, whilst working as part of a cross functional team including Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Health and Safety, Test and Systems.

This role will work closely with Mechanical Engineering to be instrumental in the development of new Stack designs.

Ensuring Design for Manufacture and supporting development builds for verification tests, feeding back on improvements required and driving thosechanges forward into design released products.

The Stack Manufacturing Engineer will develop processes to the budget and time constraints required, working with suppliers to specify and procure equipment where necessary.

Keeping in mind the capability for in-house Engineering solutions to reduce overallcost at all times.

They will plan the installation and commissioning of equipment and validate its adherence to the design specification, carrying out capability studies and equipment verification to ensure process control.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Engineering support of Manufacturing
  • Creation and Implementation of documentation to capture critical build data
  • Interface with Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Test, Procurement and Systems
  • Develop and improve current manufacturing processes
  • Assist in the specification and procurement of new equipment
  • Assist in the design and development of production intent tooling and fixtures
  • Lead Issue Resolution Tasks involving a Cross Functional Teams
  • Ensure equipment performs within the expected ranges of performance, troubleshooting those that do not
  • Create and edit Work Instruction documents for assembly processes
  • Be the voice of Stack Manufacturing Engineering within Design Reviews to ensure Design for Manufacture
  • Acquisition of new equipment, including planning for delivery, commissioning and process capability.
  • Transfer of Stack Manufacturing Equipment and Processes to our Partners
  • Implementation of Lean Manufacturing Processes
  • Experience with PFMEA, DFA, DFM, DRBFM activities
- ?Support of customer programs and JDA's.


  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
  • BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field
  • Minimum of 3 years proven Manufacturing Engineering Experience
  • Experienced Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering
  • Hands on engineer with good technical understanding
  • Aptitude for both Mechanical and Electrical work
  • Ability to work closely with production technicians to train and fine tune processes
  • Ability to produce clear and concise reports to summarise work packages
  • Deliveryfocused and highly motivated, capable of handling multiple priorities and highvolume environments
  • Design for Manufacture understanding
  • Automated production line design and build
  • Value Add/Non-Value Add analysis
