What we are looking for
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a
Project Delivery Lead to join our
Council Companies team. This expanding team leads on delivering on the councils' commercial companies interests predominately in the property and development sector.

About the role
The Council Companies team leads on the design and delivery of new residential and commercial schemes.

As Project Delivery Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning and coordination of projects that The Companies deliver on behalf of the councils.
  • Liaising with internal colleagues and external consultants to develop and maintain a programme plan of projects for delivery.
  • Working with the project team to agree and schedule project timelines and monitor progress.
  • Ensuring risk management tools are in place and regularly updated.
  • Assisting the project lead in producing reports to monitor the progress of projects to be shared with the wider project team and key stakeholders.
  • Facilitation of project meetings such as site meetings and consultation events, ensuring that the project team has produced the required documents.
  • Supporting the efficient operation of the Council's Companies through efficient administration of company matters.
  • Supporting the current team to ensure the companies comply with legal and financial requirements and maintaining a high standard of corporate governance.
  • Leading on the development of stakeholder engagement plans with key clients and other departments and the delivery of those plans.
  • Leading on the development of communication plans relevant to projects, programmes and company activities and the delivery of those plans.
  • Leading on ensuring that company websites are regularly updated with key project information.

About you


We are looking for a professional person with a relevant Degree/Graduate Certificate/Diploma or equivalent knowledge gained through experience of working in the property and development sector or a related field.


An understanding of the development process, stages and timescales is important as well as experience of working on long term projects with multiple stakeholders.

You will be able to demonstrate experience of report writing and other detailed written documents.


We are looking for someone who can work well under pressure, can adapt to change and is able to work in a challenging environment.


You will also need to be a pragmatic decision maker with proven communication skills across a wide range of audiences.
