Description

Teaching Assistant required to support a KS1 student with ASD in a Thurrock School. The student is verbal with limited communication and showing signs of frustration.

The suitably qualified Teaching Assistant will need to be nurturing and have experience and knowledge of working with ASD.

To start as soon as possible
Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 3.15pm (Term time only with additional holiday pay)

Teaching Assistant Role & Qualification:

A drive and energy to support students with Autism
Knowledge and experience working with ASD students and to have an understanding of their learning pathways.
Knowledge of PECs or Makaton would ideally be essential.
Be able to effectively manage the student's behaviour, social interaction with an understanding of triggers and traits.
Be able to actively promote and assist safe learning
You will ensure the student can thrive and fully develop their social, cognitive and emotional skills.

Qualified with a relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certification and/or SEND care qualifications.
