Are you enthusiastic, skilled, motivated, and digitally literate? We are looking for a Data Coordinator who is passionate about accuracy and detail, to support the national requirements for data mandated in relation to Critical Care.


You will be joining a cohesive and dynamic multi-disciplinary team who are engaged with ensuring we deliver outstanding care to our patients.

This role is non-clinical, however utilises clinical systems to access relevant data points. Full training will be provided.

To produce data and export that data to ICNARC (Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre) Extract data and produce monthly reports for finance.

Reports are produced on software called Mela Solutions.

Predominately you will be based in Taunton, however we are a merging Trust with Yeovil and at times it may be necessary to work across sites.

Our unit is 'paper light' meaning we record most things electronically and we have a strong focus on sustainability.

Communication & Working Relationships

  • Critical Care medical, nursing, and administrative staff to ensure complete and accurate collection of patient data. Communication is daily and face to face.
  • Critical Care consultants, Unit, and Trust managers to provide information and analysis as requested. Communication varies from daily to weekly, either face to face, by phone or Microsoft Teams.
  • Data coordinators around the region to ensure that outcome data is complete, daily by phone or Teams.
  • All members of the multidisciplinary team, including senior and junior doctors, all nursing grades and unit administrative staff.
  • Nursing and administrative staff in most wards around the hospital.
  • Regional and national data coordinators.
  • ICNARC head office staff.
Daily

  • Using the Critical Care Admissions books, Maxims, and IntelliSpace Critical Care and Anaesthesia (ICCA), check for recently discharged patients and remove them from the Critical Care Bed Plan.
  • Check for newly admitted patients and add them to Critical Care Bed Plan, with details of admission and diagnosis.
Monthly

  • Check hospital discharges for the previous month and add to Mela Solutions.
  • Liaise with other hospitals for outcome details of patients who have been transferred.
Responsibility for Patient/Client Care, Treatment & Therapy

  • There are no direct patient related responsibilities.
