Role Overview:


Working closely with a motivated team, our airport fire fighters play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness of Gatwick's Emergency Fire Service.

In exchange, we offer an outstanding training program to continuously enhance the skills of our team members

Responsibilities:


As part of our professional Fire and Rescue Service, you will handle emergency situations like Aircraft emergencies, medical emergencies, road traffic collisions, fires, chemical incidents, and special service calls, both within and outside the airport premises.

  • Engage in continuous development to maintain technical competence.
  • Foster effective relationships across the airport and broader community for an integrated response to emergencies.
  • Ensure all equipment is ready for operation.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations to meet legal obligations.
  • Perform roles supporting Gatwick Airport's operations during adverse weather.
  • Adhere to all AFS policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a current Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Service (RFFS) certificate or have experience in Local Authority or Metropolitan Fire and Rescue Service as a competent Firefighter.
  • Strong team player
  • Physically fit with the ability to meet required standards
  • Dedicated with a flexible and proactive approach
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Willingness to push boundaries when necessary
  • Possession of a valid full UK Driving Licence
  • Good education background, especially in English and Mathematics

Additional Skills:

  • Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) Licence
  • Class C certification
  • First Aid at Work qualification
