Leader Education is currently recruiting for multiple _
Higher Level Teaching Assistants_for a _
SEMH_ specialist school in _
Barnsley_.


The job:


  • Provide support to students with SEMH needs in a small group or 11 setting
  • Help students meet the objectives in their education and health care plans
  • To take direction and assist the class teacher
  • Support students in managing and regulating their feelings
  • Ensure the best quality of education for each pupil
  • Help create and maintain a secure and happy atmosphere
  • Engage with the students throughout their learning whilst in the classroom
  • Model and nurture positive relationships and strong partnerships
  • Liaising with SENCO and the designated safeguarding lead to promote positive outcomes.

You:


  • Have experience of working with children/students with SEMH needs
  • Are patient, sensitive and compassionate
  • Are understanding and have empathy
  • Have a passion for teaching and learning
  • Ability to make learning enjoyable and fun
  • Ideally Team Teach trained but not essential free training is available
  • Are motivated and enthusiastic
  • Have great communication skills
  • Have a fun but firm presence.
