This £20million+ turnover INGO are currently working with Robertson Bell in their search for a new Finance Manager to join their team on a one-year fixed term contract, with significant potential for extension in the future.

Based in London, this role willwork in partnership with a diverse variety of stakeholders across the globe to coordinate the financial management of all grants throughout the project lifecycle.


The key duties of this Finance Manager are as follows:

  • Full responsibility for the financial management of grants across the organisation, providing vital support to Project Managers across the world throughout the project lifecycle
  • Work closely with the incountry teams in the production of financial reports for submission to institutional donors, ensuring all spends are in line with contractual compliance
  • Have critical input into the annual budget setting process for the UK office, producing the first draft for review by the line manager
  • Play a leading role in the annual donor audits, coordinating the incountry teams as required
  • Ensure that the monthly management accounts have been accurately produced by the team and all the ledgers closed in a timely fashion
  • Monitor the main finance inbox and ensure that all queries are responded to in a professional manner


This Finance Manager role is the perfect opportunity for someone who has exceptionally strong core technical accounting skills who is looking to make a step into the international development sector and learn the ropes of the financial management of grantsfrom institutional donors.

Furthermore, the organisation has flexible working arrangements on offer, including the option to work from home for up to two days per week.


  • Excellent technical accounting skills
  • Ideally, experience in preparing financial donor reports, but this is not essential
  • Brilliant communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable experience of holding oversight of a transactional finance function
