An exciting opportunity has arisen within The Resuscitation service at The Whittington Hospital, for a Resuscitation lead (8a).

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered health care professional to come join our friendly and dynamic team.

Provide expert clinical intervention for service users who are at risk of clinical deterioration and cardiac arrest. Subject Matter Expert for resuscitation. Support the delivery of all resuscitation training from basic to advance to the multi-disciplinary team. To ensure that robust systems and processes are implemented. Using evidence-based practice to guide resuscitation training and improve patient safety.


The Lead for resuscitation has the professional, managerial and leadership responsibility to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive resuscitation service across Whittington Health NHS Trust.

The post holder will lead and line manage the resuscitation team who are responsible for the organisation and delivery of resuscitation training for all staff across the organisation.


The postholder will have oversight of the simulation service for the trust, co-ordinating the use of the simulation suite and supporting The Trust with simulation education and training.

Act as organisation's expert and point of reference in matters pertaining to resuscitation practice.


Ensure the patient receives the highest possible standards of resuscitation treatment in line with national guidance including access to appropriately trained staff and functioning equipment.

Be responsible for ensuring that the clinical resuscitation service is covered by resuscitation officers weekdays 8am - 4pm.


Co-ordination of the simulation suite and work with clinical teams to provide simulation education and training across The Trust as and when needed.

Co-ordinate the trust wide training of medical, nursing, AHP & other staff in adult, paediatric, neonatal and trauma resuscitation at the appropriate level

Liaise with internal and external educational teams to organise training for specific groups (postgraduate doctors in training, undergraduate medical students, student nurses, HCAs, AHPs)

Lead and review of the Trust Resuscitation Service and respond to clinical risk issues appropriately.

Lead on the development and implementation of policies and guidelines to improve the management of resuscitation across the trust.

Co-ordinate simulation-based education, supporting trust wide multidisciplinary simulation training and overseeing the simulation suite.
