An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Nurse with relevant experience to join our multi-disciplinary team in Our new Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC)

Main duties of the job:

You will need to ensure that as well as providing excellent patient care you will also be working to tight deadlines to ensure the Patients are assessed, diagnosed and start treatment on the same day, improving patient experience and reducing hospital admissions as well as avoiding unplanned and longer than necessary stays in hospitals, resulting in lower risk of infections and de-conditioning for patients

A large part of the role involves the patient flow through the emergency village, therefore close collaboration with the bed management team, Emergency Department and MAU will be required and a good working knowledge of the patient flow system is also required

  • The role is pressured at times, you will need to be proactive, selfdirected and have selfawareness as well as working collaboratively with a wider multi disciplinary teams.
You will have clear aims for the SDEC Unit's ongoing development and be able to achieve goals set.

Degree / diploma in nursing studies(or equivalent nursing qualification and experience) -:


Essential criteria:


  • Degree / diploma in nursing studies(or equivalent nursing qualification and experience)
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Evidence of involvement in teaching
  • Evidence of mentorship qualification

Desirable criteria:


  • Ability to use reflective practice, to continuously improve the standard of patient care
  • Demonstrate initiative to proactively problem solve with a solution focus

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Demonstrates evidence based clinical knowledge
  • IT Skills
  • Communicates succinctly, clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to coordinate your workload and supervise members of the team, ensuring high quality, safe and effective patient care
