Description
This is a full-time post within our care and support Department.

You will be required to undertake compliance audits across Octavia care & support services including assuring workforce compliance and demonstrate outcomes.

To support managers and staff to continually improve their services, analysing and reporting performance, developing policy, and implementing new practices including digital innovation.

Whilst communicating care service level expectations and our performance internally and externally.


Hours of work will be 7 hours days worked flexibly to meet needs of the service between 8 am to 7 p.m.

with some evening and occasional weekend working.

Key Responsibilities

To undertake compliance audits across Octavia care & support services including assuring workforce compliance and demonstrate outcomes:

  • Co-ordinate an annual audit and quality assurance visit schedule in collaboration with Care and Support Managers
  • Undertake pre-audit research and collate data to prepare for audits and identify areas of interest
  • Undertake quality and compliance audits in line with regulatory, contractual and company requirements
  • Record, analyse and report findings from audits and quality reviews and produce regular reports and present to a range of audiences
  • Produce SMART action plans in line with audit and review findings, supporting companywide continuous improvement
  • To raise safeguarding or serious non compliance and risk issues to the Care Quality Manager immediately
  • Support Managers and staff, where reasonably practicable, with local authority, CQC, health and safety, quality monitoring visits and returns as directed
  • Demonstrate and profile outcomes and impact of changes within care and support
To support Managers and staff to continually improve their services, analysing and reporting performance and developing policy and practices to meet CQC excellence, health, and safety standards:

  • To implement paper/digital systems to understand performance and the impact of care and support services
  • To coach and support staff to utilise the systems so they are able to understand how they are performing and demonstrate how they are the best at getting better across care and support
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of quality initiatives driven by learning from audit, analysis and best practice as agreed with the Care Quality Manager
  • Signpost staff to guidance and advice on policies and CQC standards
  • Ensure the most up to date policy and associated documents are accessible and used appropriately in practice
  • Identify, promote, and share best practice across care and support
  • Administrate and facilitate compliance and good practice forums
  • Undertake and support quality development workshops as require
To communicate care service level expectations and our performance internally and externally:

  • To collate a service expectations handbook for care service users and their families in conjunction with communications and publicise across various media
  • To collate stories and information about improvements and the impact of the services and publicise across various media
  • To collate performance information and share as directed
  • To support bid writing for new services

Experience

  • Track record of working in a personcentred care, support or health service and supporting the service to be compliant and meet high quality standards
  • Experience of audit and continuous improvement
  • Supporting others to develop their work practices
  • Experience of using IT systems
Knowledge

  • The needs (physical, social, cultural, and emotional) of people as they grow older
  • Awareness of dementia, mental health, disability or learning difficulties on individuals
  • Safeguarding vulnerable people
  • Ability to write clear reports/bids Up to date Legislation including Care Act 2014, CQC standards and regulations, employment law and health and safety in care and support setting Qualifications / Skills
  • Creative, delivers practical solutions, and flexible to meet others needs
  • Willing to examine own values, principles, and assumptions. Learns from own experiences
  • Motivates others by establishing clear direction and standards; providing opportunities for participation; motivating others by giving encouragement, recognition and personal support for their efforts and achievements

Benefits
The salary for this role is £31,239 plus 10% pension contribution.
