Lead Practitioner (Team Leader)

The Role
Baxter View is a fast-paced specialist housing support service for adults with Autism and other complex needs service.

Our large team provides 1:1 support to empower individuals to make choices, promote their independence and live a valued life.

There is never a dull moment at Baxter View, the people we support are very active and enjoy various activities, so we are looking for someone to take an active interest in their hobbies and work with them to achieve their goals.


Providing support to the Service Lead, you'll attend meetings and reviews as required, be involved in developing and improving our services, prepare personal plans, develop staff rotas and provide support to your teams.

Part of your role will also include managing all elements of financial transactions and audits, supporting with care inspections and liaising with families.

As a Lead Practitioner, you'll demonstrate great communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and will lead and inspire colleagues to deliver the highest quality of care & support.


What we need you to bring;

  • A proven track record of delivering high quality, personcentred support.
  • Great written, verbal and listening skills.
  • A proven record of building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with supported individuals, their families and other stakeholders.
  • The ability to resolve conflict effectively.
  • Working knowledge of statutory and legislative requirements relative to the post e.g. SSSC Codes of Practice, Care Inspectorate Standards, National Care Standards etc.
  • A commitment to complete a PDA in Management, which is a requirement for the role.
  • Awareness of health and safety policies and procedures.

Shift Patterns


The contracted hours will typically be worked between Monday to Friday; however, occasional evening and weekend work will be required.

As a
Lead Practitioner, you will also take part in formal on-call duties and may be required to pick up support shifts in an emergency.

If you're successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare and a PDA in management as required for SSSC registration.

We will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.
