The key responsibilities of a Finance Transactions Officer
will include, but may not be limited to;

  • Directing nonPO invoices in workflow and chasing them through the system for prompt approval.
  • Statement reconciliations.
  • Preparation of payment run files.
  • Manage and monitor all financial transactions within the organisation.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and guidelines.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports for senior management.
  • PO queries and matching.
  • Liaising with NHS shared business services team.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Responding to supplier queries and resolving issues.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.

The Successful Applicant:


A successful Finance Transactions Officer should have:

  • A degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working within the Public Sector and Government organisations, NHS is beneficial.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • Understanding of financial ledgers (especially purchase ledger).
  • Ability to commute to Preston.
