Description

Head of Finance, WatchHouse.


The Head of Finance at WatchHouse is accountable for providing accurate reporting of financial results, helping to drive strategic direction and providing detailed financial analysis and reporting to support the operation.


Working closely with the CEO, Managing Director and SLT, the Head of Finance will focus on the financial health and stability of the business, putting in place process and procedure as necessary.


They will be confident in presenting financials at a senior level, with the ability to provide analytical oversight whilst considering long term, financial strategies.


Overall responsible for the finance department at WatchHouse, the Head of Finance will possess the ability to manage their team effectively, with a drive to create robust plans for improving core functions of our business including pricing, distribution, and remuneration policies.


The intention is for the person in this role to develop with the company and become the Finance Director in the next 12-24 months.

We will work with you to develop your strategic leadership, change management and investor relation skills over this period


Directly reports into (Line Manager): Caroline Ottoy, Managing Director,


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute timely delivery of monthly management accounts.
  • Provide financial overview weekly to SLT,
  • Produce cash flow forecasts and cash runway.
  • Overall cash management accountability on an ongoing basis.
  • Work with our payroll provider to run the monthly payroll, ensuring all team are paid on time and correctly.
  • Investigate accounting variances and advise on any necessary course of action.
  • Creation and ongoing management of annual budgets.
  • Provide analytical advice to the operational team to support decision making to achieve EBITDA.
  • Work with the Operations team to create weekly shop metrics, measuring actuals v budgeting at a store level.
  • Work with the CEO to produce reports and models to assist with raising capital.
  • Preparing company reports for investors and board meetings,
  • Performing financial analysis on the company to predict financial health and support key decision making.
  • Monitor spending against budget.
  • Explore ways to reduce costs and increase profits.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations.
  • Ensure that our systems' numbers are as close as possible to our financial accounts, giving us a realtime look at our metrics and business performance.
  • Closely monitor business performance and cash flow in order to identify risk and assess any potential impact of industry or trading changes and fluctuations.
  • Team Management, including Accounts Manager, Technical Manager and Accounts Assistant.

You will be organised, able to work under pressure and deliver on targets. A good understanding of the operations to ensure that we drive efficiencies across the estate.
