Electrical Assessor - Gloucester, United Kingdom - Clarkson Evans
Description
Electrical Assessor
Salary £31,000-£36,000 depending on experience
Clarkson Evans has trained hundreds of electrical apprentices since establishing our first in-house training centre in 1998.
As a Top 100 Apprentice Employer, we're proud to offer one of the most successful apprenticeship programmes in the country.
We're interested in hearing from qualified electricians, either with or without assessing experience, who'd like to play an important role in helping our apprentices achieve their qualifications.
The Role
Working as part of a training team of 24, including six other assessors, you'll be allocated a 'case load' of apprentices to guide through the performance elements of their Level 3 Diploma.
This key part of an electrical apprenticeship demonstrates a person's competence and it will be your role to assess this by visiting them on site and reviewing the written evidence they submit to their e-portfolio.
The apprentices we train are based out of 21 branches working on housing development sites across much of England and south Wales.
Willingness to drive long distances and to spend one day a week working alongside your colleagues at our Gloucester head office is essential.
Each assessor is assigned a caseload of learners based on a specific region, such as the South and Southeast or the Midlands.
Requirements:
- Qualified electrician (JIB Gold Card standard) with at least three years' experience
- A wellorganised, tenacious approach, with the ability to manage your own workload
- A positive, 'cando' attitude
- Strong communication skills, particularly when dealing with young people
- Good IT skills (MS Word, Outlook & Internet)
If you are not already a qualified assessor, we'll support your training as you complete the Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment.
It is expected that you'll be able to achieve this within six months by gathering appropriate evidence to complete a portfolio of your own.
Working hours will be 39 hours a week, based on 8 hours a day Monday to Thursday and 7 hours on Fridays, with an hour for lunch each day.
Successful applicants will need to undergo a check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as the Criminal Records Bureau) as a condition of the job offer.
Our Values :
Commitment | Change | Career Progression | Care | Collaboration
Clarkson Evans is an equal opportunities employer and we're proud of our fair and inclusive recruitment process.
