Description
Our Client is a leading Engineering business based in the North East of England. The company currently require a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join the business.


Purpose of the Role:


  • Liaise with external and internal stakeholders in order to see a product from initial concept through design to manufacture and test.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Liaise with customers to establish their requirements and translate into a compliant, efficient design that the business can manufacture.
  • Create commercially priced quotations in a timely manner by use of inhouse design tools and guides working closely with Commercial department.
  • Follow up on the outcome of quotations where required.
  • Generate component and product drawings for Customers, Suppliers and the Production Department.
  • Check and review designs, job cards and Engineering drawings on an ongoing basis to ensure consistency, accuracy and fulfilment of customer specification, ensuring any amendments are made as necessary.
  • Provide support and input to the Production Department in respect of product improvement.
  • Provide technical support to customers and the Production, Test, Inspection and Quality Departments.
  • Work closely with all departments to improve the overall performance of the business through interactive relationship management.

Skills Required:


  • Preferably qualified to Degree level in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or similar.
  • Experience in voltage & current transformer design and manufacture advantageous.
  • Working knowledge and experience of power magnetics products, AC and DC power systems including electrical protection devices, rectifiers, chokes and inductors preferred.
  • Experience with electrical test and measurement systems advantageous. 2D & 3D Auto CAD drawing skills together with good IT and communication skills essential.

Salary:


  • Up to £40,000 plus company benefits.
