We are currently recruiting


An
Outdoor Activity Tutor to work within the
Cultural Services Team at the wonderful setting based at
Borwick Hall Outdoor Education Centre on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales with
Lancashire County Council .


Lancashire Outdoor Education Service are proud to be a major provider of outdoor adventure activities and residential facilities for an array of visitors such as schools, businesses and more.

We run 3 centres located in both the Cumbria and Lancashire countryside
:
Tower Wood,
Borwick Hall,
and Hothersall Lodge.

**These fantastic sites provide a welcoming space for all to have fun, challenge themselves and learn new skills, all located in a stunning outdoor setting.

We would love to recruit an
Outdoor Activity Tutor to further enhance our service to ensure our guests have a fantastic and memorable stay.

We offer a range of activities to attract our guests such as **Canoeing
, Caving
, Rock Climbing **and more


What we are searching for

A Passionate Instructor - We are searching for a passionate outdoor adventurer who, lives, breathes and enjoys sharing their passion of the outdoors with others - in this exciting opportunity we'll need someone who is an experienced and qualified instructor to share their skills with a variety of groups - with your enthusiasm you will be responsible for instructing groups of young people to facilitate exciting and challenging outdoor activities - we'll need you to appreciate the natural world and the wonders it has for us to explore - so, if you're ready to share your passion for the outdoors then we'd really love you to join us


Leadership - As our new activity tutor you will need the resilience and adaptability to respond to changes at short notice and adjust accordingly to meet guest expectations - you'll join our team as a confident, personable leader to direct groups, build positive relationships with others and prioritise the enjoyment and safety of those you'll lead - in this fun yet challenging opportunity we will require you to manage the risk of each activity and be proactive for the safety of the group - finally we'll need you to bring your charisma to encourage team work and lead our eager adventurers to have a fabulous stay.


Communication & Collaboration - We need a skilled communicator to collaborate with a diverse range of people as you'll be providing critical instructions to the groups that you support - so they'll need to understand what's next, why, and how to ensure the instructions for each activity is completely understood - with your natural ability you will engage with the group so they can seek your assistance when they need guidance and support - as our new tutor you'll actively consider any future improvements whilst sharing your knowledge to develop and build on our current offer - so we'll need you to be observant to your surroundings, listen to the wider team and motivate each group you instruct to participate and have fun in the activities you'll deliver.


Applicants should be trained or assessed in at least two of the following NGB Awards at or above the following:

  • Mountain Leader (Summer)
  • RCI or CWI
  • Paddlesport instructor/leader
  • Cave Leader award
D1 driving entitlement would be very desirable.
