The Audit Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC) has been mandated by our client, a highly regarded Wealth Management business who provide innovative, quality and integrated solutions to the wealth management cycle.


Due to organic growth, the firm are now looking to recruit an individual who will be part of the Compliance Monitoring team.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing both compliance monitoring and assurance support.


The role


Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the role will primarily focus on the development and execution of a risk-based program of thematic and desk-based monitoring.


Applicants should ideally have compliance monitoring experience from within the asset management sector (including relevant product knowledge) and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the FCA handbook and key regulations, e.g.

UCITS, AIFMD, EIRSA etc.


Job responsibilities

Day to day objectives include:

  • Supporting the delivery of the annual compliance monitoring plan through thematic and focused monitoring reviews
  • Testing key business processes and controls to determine whether they comply with applicable regulations and legislation
  • Embedding and promoting a strong compliance culture across the business through effectively engaging with key business stakeholders in respect of their regulatory obligations
  • Presenting findings of reviews and agree remedial actions with stakeholders
  • Providing accurate and timely updates on monitoring activity that will be included in compliance MI packs
  • Ensuring work is completed to a high standard of delivery and accuracy
  • Keeping updated on changes to regulatory requirements, new legislation and codes of practice
  • Working collaboratively with wider compliance function to ensure consistency of best practice
  • Advising the wider business on regulatory responsibilities and promoting a strong compliance culture

Requirements:


  • 5+ years Compliance (including monitoring) experience within a UK regulated environment
  • Solid regulatory experience and knowledge, particularly around FCA
  • Strong organization skills, ability to plan and prioritize
  • Strong attention to detail, with inquisitive and analytical mind set
  • Qualification such as ICA, ACAMS or CISI are beneficial
  • High degree of analytical proficiency, working with large volumes of data from various divisional IT systems
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • As appropriate to the role, ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required
  • Experience of compliance monitoring activities or experience and / or auditing compliance functions
  • Demonstrable understanding of existing regulatory expectations in areas such as outsourcing, conduct rules, complaints handling, management etc.
