An exciting opportunity has arisen for Clinical/Counselling Psychologists to be part of the growing Mental Health Inpatients Psychology Team at Prospect Park Hospital.

There are opportunities for flexible working patterns which would include face to face clinical work as well as home working.

Currently there are twelve Psychologists working across the hospital.

Full time and part time 8a or band 7 developmental Clinical/Counselling Psychologists posts are available across each of the seven wards:
adult acute, older adult acute, older adult dementia and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).


For those post holders in band 7 developmental posts, the post holder will be able to progress from band 7 to 8a once they demonstrate that they meet the competencies for band 8a level.

Job satisfaction can come from a number of different areas in this diverse role.

Under supervision of a Principle or Consultant Clinical Psychologist you will take on a clinical caseload with adults and/or older adults with complex mental health presentations.

You will provide regular input to the multi-disciplinary team on your ward(s) in the form of consultation, team formulation sessions, teaching and joint working.

You will be part of the Inpatients Psychology team, supervise one or two of the Assistant Psychologists your wards() and also receive peer support from the other ward Clinical/Counselling Psychologists.

You will contribute to and/or lead on service development projects.
