As a Global Strategic Buyer, you will utilise your experience to analyse, define, and implement market and sourcing strategies for your designated commodities on behalf of Jaguar Land Rover.


The Global Strategic Buyer will be responsible for the global commodity sourcing, through the global sourcing process until launch of our fantastic new range of electric vehicles.


This position will play a vital role with contributing to the future strategy of JLR and will create various opportunities to cooperate with different business areas.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrating tenacity, drive and perseverance with the ability to deliver operational plans in a complex, highly demanding environment.
  • To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate capability to create high quality longterm purchasing strategies.
  • A Global Strategic Buyer should be a good communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders to influence crossfunctional engagement and will also need to be an effective team player that actively develops and supports team members when required.
  • You will support and work closely with the Regional Delivery teams and engage with specialists within the Purchasing Function as required to ensure optimum value creation and delivery for JLR, as well as leading stakeholder relationships and ensuring JLR is appropriately represented both internally and externally.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential:

  • Maintaining compliance with standard policies and procedures.
  • Experience of working in a global, multicultural environment.
  • Responsible for the execution of commodity and supplier strategy.
  • To maintain effective operational relationships.
  • Ensuring effective cost management of designated commodities and suppliers.
  • Work with the Capacity Planning Team to manage strategic capacity changes and constraints.
  • Support the Global Commodity Leaders, to develop the supplier relationships globally for your designated commodities.
  • Monitor external supply chain performance and communicate to the relevant stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Driving system compliance throughout the supply chain.
