Job Purpose
The primary focus of the Workshop Manager is to ensure the smooth running of the glass workshop. Ensuring that customer orders are processed in a timely manner with quality as a priority. The role will ensure that priorities are clear for the team and escalate any issues as they arise.

The role is based at Unit 17, Axis 31, Three Legged Cross however travel is to be expected. All travel will be done in company vans. The role is varied and will require making of windows and the removal and fitting at customer sites.

The role reports directly to Nathan Sherriff, the company Director. Clear communication of work progress is to be maintained and managed by this role.

Full training will be provided (for example: CSCS)


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day activities of the glass workshop
  • Ensure correct stock of materials and highlight any shortages
  • Process customer orders
  • Assist with designing of bespoke commissions

Example Tasks

  • Projects may include but are not limited to commissioned stained glass design and construction as well as stained glass repair or restoration.
  • Manage stock levels of glass, lead and workshop consumables
  • Manage and prioritise order of work to be undertaken
  • Prepare accurate drawings and cartoons using measurements and templates taken onsite.
  • Catalogue glass before disassembly to ensure correct position in re leaded panels.
  • Safely and systematically dismantle or assemble glass panels using the appropriate tools to ensure glass can be removed or reassembled without damage.
  • Safely handle sheet glass and leaded panels in accordance with safe working practice
