The role

The difference our new Tool Stores Operative TMk1will make
As a Tool Stores Operative TMk1 you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

Being responsible for the acceptance, storage, release, and disposal of tools into and out of central storage area in accordance with the Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory Framework.


Day to day, you'll be responsible for controlling the appropriate identification, recording and monitoring of tooling/equipment held in the tool store.

This will include the registration, following acceptance and inspection, of each tool, ensure tool kits remain locked when in storage and that the keys are held securely in the tool store, ensure that surplus or redundant tooling/equipment is removed from maintenance environment and quarantined or disposed, ensure calibrated equipment is in date and that all out of calibration equipment is returned for internal/external calibration via TMEC, ensure that all C store consumables are supplied and account for correctly and all aircraft demand sheets are actioned in accordance with procedures, ensure orders for PPE are submitted in a timely fashion and that adequate stock levels are maintained in the Babcock clothing store, ensure initial issue/replacement PPE is controlled and the clothing store is maintained in accordance with current regulations, ensure access to the AMRO vehicle is controlled and monthly paperwork is returned to MT Ops, comply with all work processes/policies; health & safety legislation; quality and environmental regulations as directed by Babcock International and BAE Systems, ensure Human Factors and Error Management philosophies are applied to all Part 145 activities.

Ensure you understand the risks associated with Part 145 and how they are mitigated and managed and ensure you carry out reasonable acceptable duties as requested by management/supervisor.

Essential experience

  • GCSE's or equivalent, including english & maths.
- pass interview & pre-employment medical.

  • Full UK driving license.
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of human factors, human performance, and limitations
  • Knowledge of safety risks linked to the working environment
  • Understanding of professional integrity, behaviour, and attitude towards safety
  • Understanding of his/her own human performance and limitations
  • Ability to identify and rectify existing and potential unsafe conditions
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and report discrepancies
  • Ability to use information systems
  • Communication and literacy skills
  • Obtain or have the ability to obtain SC Clearance
