This is an exciting integrated role within our team working with our externally commissioned providers.

The focus will be on our Older People services and in particular Care Homes (Enhanced Care Home Team), Interim Placements and Care at Home contractual relationships and negotiations, we are a busy diverse team and therefore the scope of this post will expand, and your work may include a variety of other projects and experiences.


You will lead and manage the Enhanced Care Home Team, an integrated team of nursing and social work staff who work with and support the Care Home sector within Perth and Kinross.

You will be required to build good relationships with the Care Home groups and managers within Perth and Kinross and as such have responsibility for Care Home contractual negotiations, you will chair our Care Home Collaborative Meetings and coordinate our Interim bed process.

This role with have responsibility for our Older People contracts, including Care at Home and as such will manage contract officers with this responsibility.


To undertake this role, you must have worked operationally within an older people setting, this role overlaps both operational and contractual responsibility, you will be managing practitioners and therefore must have a frontline working knowledge of nursing, social work, or social care, preferably in a managerial or senior role.

You will be required to represent the team at a strategic level both internally and externally as required and to provide accurate and timely feedback on changes or requirements that impact on the work capacity of the team.

To work in partnership with other Team Leaders in the team and across the partnership. To ensure there are appropriate, sufficient, and effective communication channels in place for the team, service, and organisation.


The Individual:


We are looking for someone able to contribute to the development and design of policies to ensure commissioned services' objectives are aligned to the strategic priorities to meet the needs of a variety of stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Skills to develop, motivate, inspire, and manage the performance of the team.

To undertake supervision through one-to-one support meetings for team members, undertake line management duties for team members including authorising leave, managing sickness absence, managing discipline, and carrying out performance review and development.

Ability and experience of allocating, supervising, and assessing priorities for the team while acting as a support and mentor to team members.

Possess a working knowledge and experience of relevant current legislation and practice in Policy and Commissioning. Experience of negotiating and evaluating contracts would be highly advantageous.

Degree or degree level qualification, work experience will be taken into consideration.
