A bit about the role
:

This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate who is looking to kick start their career in project management.

You will experience how industry recognised business change and project and programme methodologies are applied in a large complex organisation.

You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge through a variety of work, working with both the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office EPMO and the change programmes and projects.

This will help you develop technical and behavioural skills and knowledge in the business change arena.

This programme will provide you with the foundations to kick start a career in project management. It will be set within the heart of the EPMO.

The EPMO's primary purpose is to ensure the effective delivery of organisational change which enables the strategic ambitions of the agency.

This programme will provide the opportunity to work alongside an evolving team and you will be exposed to real life change delivery within a large, complex organisation.

Homes England is investing in major programmes and projects to modernise and transform our operating model, with particular focus on our ways of working, business processes, data management, digital provision, people and culture.

As a graduate in the EPMO, you will have the opportunity to:

  • work alongside Portfolio, Programme and Project management specialists as well as Change Managers who will advise the programmes and projects on good practice in accordance with the Government Functional Standards for Project Delivery.
  • Be involved in and exposed to every stage of the project delivery lifecycle, from conception to delivery.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of delivery standards and training environments for Portfolio Programme and Project Professionals.
  • Represent the EPMO at stakeholder meetings including Programme and Project reviews, Executive and Board forums.
  • Support the facilitation and coordination of new and emerging Agency priorities. This may be through the review or production of reports, analysis of change requests or supporting the facilitation of meetings.
As well as the above, you will develop relationships with key teams across the agency.

This could involve Governance, Delivery Enabling Services, Risk, Internal Audit, Digital, Communications, HR, Finance, Development, Investments and Markets, Partners & Places.

You will also gain exposure to external consultants, working on projects, programmes and change activities throughout the Agency.

No two days are the same in EPMO.

Whilst this means you will be exposed to a wide range of exciting opportunities, it also means that we will need you to be comfortable working with ambiguity and uncertainty, while remaining resilient and calm in challenging circumstances.

It also means that you need to be flexible, adaptable and be able to respond to new priorities, which at times may be outside of your comfort zone.

The wider team has experience working in this way and will be hand to offer you support and guidance in your learning and development.

A desire to develop your project and portfolio management skills is preferable, as there is a continuing need for these skills to provide support for complex change activities to deliver on organisational priorities.

You will also be required to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, regularly exercising your verbal and written communication skills.

Furthermore, we need all team members to regularly endorse and uphold examples of best practice, identifying where standards still need to be set for certain areas of the Agency.

A bit about you:

We are looking for the next generation of housing professionals.

You will be an innovator who will bring fresh ideas, be commercially minded, a problem solver and a strong relationship builder.

You will
