Key responsibilities include:


  • Inspecting communal areas to monitor regulatory and statutory compliance
  • Supporting the management of estate service contractors to ensure highquality communal repairs, cleaning and grounds maintenance
  • Working to address community safety issues to improve customer satisfaction
  • Carrying out skilled general maintenance work including general DIY
  • Monitoring followup works from fire risk assessments and the removal of hazards in communal areas
  • Recognising safeguarding responsibilities including reporting vulnerabilities

To be successful in this job, you will require:

  • Experience of monitoring and contract managing service contracts
  • Proven experience in a customer service environment, including frontline service delivery
  • A strong understanding of estate management, monitoring risk, health and safety, compliance and environmental services
  • Knowledge of all relevant legislation, landlord and resident obligations including H&S and community safety legislation
  • The ability to work collaboratively to deliver a rightfirsttime service for our customers
  • The ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports using Microsoft Office and housing management systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A full, valid driving licence

To bring about this overarching commitment we are looking for an Estate Services Officer to deliver a consistent, reliable, and responsive customer focused service, to the organisation's properties that require the inspection of communal areas to monitor compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.


To support the contract management of estate service contractors to ensure delivery to agreed standards, meet customers' expectations and ensure any defaults are rectified quickly.

To work with and support the Neighbourhood Team to address community safety issues to improve customer satisfaction.


To ensure property management health and safety compliance and best practice and to assist in ensuring that Housing for Women is compliant with health and safety legislation and landlord and tenant law relating to property management.


Principle Accountabilities

  • Carry out a programme of inspections weekly/fortnightly/monthly on estate including all communal areas, estate areas, bin areas, play area and facilities.
  • Record outcomes of inspections make recommendations and follow through actions to completion within agreed timescales.
  • Challenge contractors on not meeting the standards outlined in the contract.
  • Raise jobs for communal repairs, approve quotes for works, book jobs in, liaise with contractor, post/pre inspect completed jobs, approve payments.
  • Raise works for pest control, carry out pre and post inspections, liaise with contractors, and residents throughout process. Ensure follow on works are booked and completed.
