The Directorate of Media and Communications is the in-house communication function and is arguably one of the busiest and exciting communication teams in London.


We are looking for a brilliant Senior Internal Communications Manager to join our internal team and help deliver the most important work to-date.

The people in the organisation have an abundance of fascinating stories to tell and incredible content to showcasethrough our established internal channels.


Accountable for:

  • Engaging and informing staff in business groups (to be confirmed) in support of the DMC Internal Communications strategy
  • Developing and implementing, in collaboration with the Head of Internal Campaigns, internal campaigns to drive behaviour change
  • Delivering a programme of communications that supports business priorities and change activity
  • Delivering and ensuring the effectiveness of internal communications and activity to budget, plan and quality.
  • Ensuring content and messaging is coherent and consistent across the the organisation to supports its strategy
  • Measuring the success and performance of internal content and campaigns
  • Lead the integration of internal content and campaigns, when appropriate, across social media, press and external campaigns

Responsibilities:


  • Work collaboratively and proactively to ensure internal communications is integrated and coordinated
  • Lead the planning, management, and delivery of campaign and change communications across a wide variety of channels and media
  • Manage and work with key stakeholders to support business priorities
  • Lead on the measurement and monitoring of internal communications, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and impact, and use this information to drive continual improvement and development.
  • Post holder will be required to be part of the Corporate communication on call rota
  • A relevant degree or professional communications qualification (CIPR, CIM) with at least four year's relevant experience in a communications team working in or for a large organisation
  • Track record of campaign or business partner experience and effective use of research and evaluation techniques
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Strong track record of building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve mutually successful business and communications outcomes
  • A problem solver with a positive outlook who enjoys solving complex business problems requiring creative communication solutions
  • Ability to work flexibly in managing a range of activities and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • A strong track record of translating business challenges into successful communication strategies, plans and campaigns
  • Strong and independent relationship management, forming effective working relationships across crossfunctional stakeholders and engaging confidently with the business at the required level
  • Highly developed project management skills with an ability to deliver at pace and to deadlines
Strategic communications

  • An expert sense of what's important during change and an indepth understanding of what great campaigns and communication of change looks like
  • An excellent understanding of different communication disciplines existing and emerging and how they operate together.
Communications planning

  • Proven experience of planning and managing internal campaigns, including commissioning products from inhouse or agency specialists
