Avove is a new, independent utilities infrastructure business, formed from the utilities division of leading infrastructure services company, Amey.
We design, build and maintain the UK's utilities infrastructure to help transform local communities for the better.

We are proud to work in partnership with our clients, including Severn Trent, United Utilities, Yorkshire Water, Scottish Water, Northern Powergrid and Scottish Power.


The Role:

Our Finance Team is growing and we have an opportunity for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join us.

As Finance Business Partner you will provide financial leadership and support to the Severn Trent Water Account Director and wider team, to drive sustainable and profitable performance of the business contract.

This is a great opportunity for someone to drive constant improvement to raise standards in key decision making areas. This role is a full time position with hybrid working both from home and our head office in Chorley.


Responsibilities:


  • Drive planning processes for the contract, including the setting of annual targets, subsequent budget and 5year strategic plans
  • Facilitate and challenge peers and other functional team members to deliver / over deliver the financial performance targets monthly, quarterly and annually with actionable risk mitigation plans in place
  • Demonstrate leadership on cashflow management, ensuring that accurate forecasts are maintained and adhered to with relevant reporting to evidence accuracy
  • Ensure detailed plans with clear ownership are in place to deliver
  • Responsibility for contracts with a combined turnover of circa £35 million

Skills & Experience:

Strong academic record of achievement - A Level / Degree or equivalent educated (preferred)
Qualified Accountant
Advance skills on Microsoft Excel
Experience in a similar role previously with commercial finance/business partnering
