An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Administrative Clerk to join the Gastroenterology Department of Royal Liverpool University Hospitals assisting the Hepatology Team.

This post will be to cover Maternity Leave.

'It is expected that all applicants will have previous experience of working in the NHS within a secretarial role and will possess extensive understanding and knowledge of medical terminology.

You will be expected to be a team player and cover for your colleagues during absences. Previous experience of general administrative duties is advantageous.

As a member of the Service, the post holder will provide clerical and administrative support to the department.


They must have the ability to plan own workload as appropriate and provide support as required to the clinic reception staff.

It is essential that you show initiative commensurate
with the role and it is vital that confidentiality should be maintained at all times.

Ensure cross cover working where possible.

Communicate with all disciplines of staff and patients throughout the Trust and other bodies both internally and externally.

Deal with all queries in a confidential and competent manner and general office duties.

To provide a comprehensive service to the IBD nurses and consultants and with the minimum of supervision.


Organise your own workload and co-ordinate activities with other medical secretaries and administrative clerks to ensure that an efficient service is provided.
