Salary:
£49,135+ depending on skills and experience
What you'll be doing:
- Manage a core team of Engineers alongside other internal and external multidisciplinary specialists operating as extended team members
- Oversee the delivery of key Technology & Capability engineering activities to time, cost and quality requirements, and providing appropriate reporting information. Use techniques such as TRIZ, Agile and Lean to add pace and drive out the technology value
- Engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders across Air Sector customers, partners, suppliers to keep current on relevant Mission System challenges & requirements
- Think and operate beyond traditional boundaries, engaging and working with wider stakeholders internally across other Business Units, externally across Industry, Academia, UK Government, and internationally where appropriate. Keeping abreast of relevant technology developments and associated business opportunities
- Lead and contribute to writing papers, bid responses, technical proposals, business justifications, scientific reports, engineering specifications and standards documentation
Your skills and experiences:
- Practical experience of operating on a multinational major programme in a senior Systems or Software Engineering role. With understanding of an Air System Product Breakdown Structure
- Early life cycle concept modelling & simulation. Utilising Model Based Systems Engineering approaches and the use of modelling languages such as SysML/UML and synthetic and virtual environments/simulation tools. Synthetic to Real and LVC, leveraging AI techniques, Information modelling, data science and analytics, Cyber security and resilience approaches
- Agile; ideally under multiple sprints on multiple products as part of the development team or scrum master.
- Whole lifecycle Systems and software engineering including open systems architectures and frameworks such as NAF, Pyramid and FACE, Software architecture approaches such as IMS, ECOA, DDS, Docker, Kubernetes, micro services, virtual machines and Physical mission system architectures
- Proposal and business case authoring
- DO178C, SOLID, DevOps, DevSecOps
